Each one is scored by an opportunity score weighing search volume, keyword difficulty, and how close you already are to ranking well, so the keywords most worth acting on surface first.
This runs on Search Console data alone, which costs nothing to read — which is why keyword discovery is unlimited and free on every plan, including the free one. It refreshes daily on paid plans and weekly on the free plan.
Search Console reports an average position — a number blended across every device, location, and personalization state that produced an impression. It's real data, but it isn't the position anyone actually saw in one specific place.
So on paid plans, your top opportunities also get checked with a real, live Google search, in the exact country you choose, and that history is kept over time — showing movement, not just a single snapshot.
Checks run weekly rather than daily by default: a live search costs meaningfully more than reading data Google already reports for free, and rankings rarely move enough in a day to justify that cost on every plan. Paid plans also get a limited number of instant, on-demand checks for when you don't want to wait.
