SERP Feature
A SERP feature is any result on a search page beyond the standard organic listing — featured snippets, AI Overviews, People Also Ask boxes, image packs, and similar elements.
SERP features matter because they compete for the same attention as organic results without being one. A page can hold the #1 organic position and still lose most of the clicks to a featured snippet or AI Overview sitting above it.
Which features appear varies by query — a well-defined question is more likely to trigger a featured snippet or AI Overview than a broad, ambiguous search.
